Quick thanks here for a terrific start to the season. Our first JYC of 2024 was a really pleasant and exciting race. We sailed a clean circuit and handled tacks, gybes, sets and douses as it if were the end of the season! We had a clean start and just overall had some great conversation as we went around the marks. Super fun and a beautiful night. The mid-fleet finish doesn’t really capture the highlight of finishing just behind Samba and the favorably rated J/24. Good stuff. : )
We also just concluded the Bridge Fiasco. We got wet. Very wet. And although I liked the course, it is conceivable a different sequence was more advantageous. Nonetheless, we happened to sail with Blitz the entire way around and being essentially an even rating to us, this permitted a direct comparison of speed and point. And it was good! Hard to say what issues might’ve been impacting Chris, but we had superb performance against the 105 on every point of sail and across a broad range of wind speeds. Too early to decide we are “faster”, but for sure Chris runs a very strong and experienced program and anytime you can beat him (and by 7 minutes), that’s a good thing. Moreover, we had a -5 penalty which would’ve permitted us to gain a place in the standings, maybe two. All good! The post-race was pretty fun too!
So thank you for a terrific start and looking forward to much more this season and a big June with both Around Aquidneck and NYYC Annual!

Thanks Bill. Good times despite a slow start. Vento was missed! Odyssey retired.
