Early Season Updates

Got a lot of maintenance done on the weekend  so while I might’ve preferred to sail, knocking out the chores was good thing.  Fresh engine oil, filter, fresh sail drive oil, fresh impeller, forestay adjustment and a thorough cleaning — all stuff that needed to get done.  Also glad we cancelled yesterday.  Miserable day and a touch of lightning late in the afternoon.  The rescheduled event is tomorrow, Thursday 05/08.  No need to sign up on Crew Manager — just show up between 4-4:30 at the pass office or the boat.  Need to be later but still want to go?  Text me!  Primary effort is to look at the rig, get a feel for the now eased forestay (added 3/4″) and get a kite up.  : )  Dinner afterwards is an option!

For longer range planning please note I’ve added a June 1st coaching session w/ Moose.  I’m super excited about this.  He’ll be focusing on sail shape, trim and sail adjustment controls from his chase boat.  This’ll be a half day but somewhat mirror the time when he came by for a few minutes during the Safe Harbor Race Weekend last year.  Those few minutes with him were exceptional and I know all the trimmers really enjoyed the chance to get some wisdom from a legend.   Sign up for this but there’s no limit on numbers of course.  I would especially ask that the trimmers make an effort to be there.

All for now, thanks much and see you soon!
