Looking at last year’s results we knew we had a pretty strong season, but I’m not sure we appreciated just how good it was. With no Spring Dinner for the Twenty Hundred Club this year we decided instead to distribute trophies at a board meeting last night. Of course, we knew about Prince Henry, which was a wonderful team effort covering both a terrific plan and really solid execution. We did not know about the Dawson trophy, presented to the Twenty Hundred Club spinnaker class season overall winner, so I was quite surprised when Commodore Nick walked over to me last night and presented this large plaque/half model. My name is on these trophies but I want to be really, really clear: this is COMPLETELY a team effort. Every single person who sailed on Spirit last year contributed to these awards. Moreover, with the Dawson in particular, this is sustained performance across months of sailing and in a big variety of conditions. Nice job! So, a sincere thank you and congratulations for being recognized for a really fun 2019. : )
